Body image issues

Social media, celebrities and society have set impossible beauty standards that are almost impossible to achieve naturally. We sometimes compare our bodies to these standards and feel inadequate. 


A negative body image is when an individual is overly focused on comparing their body dimensions like size, shape, appearance etc to unrealistic ideals. This also causes low self-esteem, eating disorders, self-hatred, stress, unhealthy self-talk, anxiety etc.  


Multiple resources are emerging using which a person can create a healthier self-image. These include CBT or talk therapy, medications etc. Seeing a professional make these tools available at your disposal. 


Just remember, your body has helped you survive every event in your lifetime. It helps you perform all your daily tasks, keeping your blood pumping and helps your breath circulate. You owe it to your body to take steps towards healing your self-image.
